Facts:
This album is an affectionate tribute to the late, great Queen of the Blues, Dinah Washington (August 1924 - December 1963) who was one of the most influential singers in jazz. A compilation of Washington favourites, "Remembering Dinah" offers a highly varied collection of song interpretations with vocals by two fine singers, each with a different approach – Jan Harrington from Los Angeles, USA, and Lilly Thornton from Zurich, Switzerland. Featured in the backing groups are some of the great jazz artists who played with the Queen in the Fifties - Nat Adderley, Benny Golson, Keter Betts and Jimmy Cobb - plus Billy Mitchell and Arthur Blythe. The selections include Dinah's biggest hit, "What A Difference A Day Made" - which was 14 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959 - plus "Love Walked In", "All Of Me" and two titles from Miss Washington's first record date in December 1943 - "Evil Gal Blues" and "Salty Papa Blues".
